I started reading Build It because I m amazed at how many of my friends and disengaged at work and hoped the book would give me some practical tips that I could use to help change that, even if it was just in my little slither of the world. So far, I m about halfway through, and the book does not disappoint It s different to many of the other business titles that I ve read for a couple of reasons 1 It s a great mix of both theory and practical examples from people and organisations who have been there, done it and got the scars to prove it.2 It s written by two people who have built an extremely successful business by taking the advice they ve shared in the book This is tried and tested and it works.I love the variety of case studies throughout and how there is something for everyone from the quite rebellious to off the scale rebel. Each chapter does a great job outlining the key things to strive for if you are to make a change in your organisation around a particular layer of The Engagement Bridge, however, I think my favourite thing in each chapter is the section called Making a start Change is scary for many of us and this section of the book helps to break that change down into bitesize chunks It reminds you that you don t have to do a complete 360 overnight, you just have to start somewhere.

I ve been luck enough to spend much of my last 15 years working alongside some of the most successful founders of scale ups and this book absolutely reflects what great businesses like the ones I ve seen do so well even a few of our members quoted This books provides a great framework to approach the area for anyone looking to glean practicable ideas and even a blue print of how to transform their employees experience. What really brings it to life are the anecdotal examples throughout If you run a business or manage teams and want to explore best practice in employee engagement you should read this book
