this one as well Ms Warren writes stories with characters I can t forget and situations I need to root for them to overcome The words simply flow on the page and take the reader from scene to scene effortlessly I might not have agreed with every single one of the characters actions who really does That s what gets the reader emotionally involved in the story I still had to know what would happen next.Jessie has been in love with Cadde for as long as she can remember I love that trope Immediately I need to know that they will get together Her feelings for Cadde are sweet and mixed with the right amount of spice Still, there were things she did that I understood, but I wasn t real thrilled with More than once I wanted to bop her on the head and say, hey Don t do that Still, the explanations as to why she does makes sense and being in her shoes, I can t say I wouldn t have done differently.Cadde The guy is a conundrum clad in sexy business clothes and boots As soon as he stepped on the page, I knew he cared so deeply for Jessie I totally understood his confusion and divided loyalties love the girl or the job While it s been done, Ms Warren made it work in this book I wanted to see him succeed and become the man I knew he could be I wasn t let down In fact, reading from Cadde s point of view was fantastic and had some very hot moments. If you want a book that will stay with you long after the last page and is chock full of characters you ll root for from the get go, then you need to read The Texan s Bride It s a fun, sweet, and spicy read I was sure this super favorite couple and book of mine wouldn t stand the re read test But it did and I even found myself being less condemning of the irritants that somewhat ruined things for me, the first time around This moc is the real thing brought about as a death wish of the h s overprotective father also the H s mentor , necessitated by business pragmatism and a father s desire to look out for his daughter even in death The marriage remains unconsummated for the 18 months of it Th I was sure this super favorite couple and book of mine wouldn t stand the re read test But it did and I even found myself being less condemning of the irritants that somewhat ruined things for me, the first time around This moc is the real thing brought about as a death wish of the h s overprotective father also the H s mentor , necessitated by business pragmatism and a father s desire to look out for his daughter even in death The marriage remains unconsummated for the 18 months of it They live together but rarely meet and they ve known each other for years but barely know any personal details about the other As formal and sexless as business partners if not complete strangers The H is all alpha male, unapologetic and focused on the oil business and nothing else, but he also has a soft caring side that is revealed later He has had a no look no touch policy towards the boss daughter for years and has difficulty coming out of I had some misgiving about him inveigling into what is essentially the h s inheritance and heritage but as she wants a life other than that so it was okay, I guess I like a h who goes after what she wants and if she uses a bit of cunning and manipulation, I like it evenShe s had it with the m i n o and wantshad for some time So how to get a negligent husband s attention Nettle him and create hurdles in path of his true love his oil business Sure to rile up some emotion in the block of iceJessie, we need to talk So what were the irritants view spoilerAnimals It suddenly hit him that he knew absolutely nothing about his wife other than she was Roscoe s daughter and a pain to deal with at board meetings It s alright that she s so into abused animals and families, but that distracts from the h H and seems like so much filler material The contrast between how she treats her animals and what is shown to happen to the Dobermans left me a bit uneasy Okay, it was necessitated but But this time I understood that the author wanted her to have a life outside her constrained lifestyle, show her to bethan what she believes herself to be as selfish and manipulative as her fatherPlease let me live my life There were reasons why her father protected and sheltered her, but the super heavy security arrangements seemed ott and at the same time completely useless when actually needed What was the whole point of showing that I liked the backstory about her cousin and the mystery about her mother thoughBut why is she shutting me out I accept that things were going so beautifully that they needed a climactic crisis, but what happened and the consequence was not the way I d have wished it But it I weathered it better unlike the no warning first readI m leaving Then the way she vanishes for months at the end after the tragedy The sudden pivoting from sweet and fuzzy to awful and depressing was difficult to take but would have still been okay if the timespan had been reasonable.Going away to heal, to sort oneself out is everyone s prerogative and right and it was nicely done, but what about the ones you leave behind the ones you purportedly love without address or information about your location or even when you will be back She could have come back for Christmas at least as the H hoped for It was Christmas Eve She d come home tonight because they had to decorate the tree. hide spoiler But still the warmth and the fuzzy feel this couple gave me, endured with the re read All the little episodes that spice up their belated courtship like their first dinner date, the time he very grudgingly lends her his truck and she gets mustard on the leather steering wheel, how he s always losing his beloved hat around her or how he just moves into the master bedroom one day I love how their zero connect moc pans out to a deep, strong love and marriage Their kind of connect, relationship development and intimacy is just what I look for when I read a romance The heroine rescues abused animals yet in the same breath, she speaks super casually about putting down a pair of perfectly healthy Doberman dogs because their ferocity that they were specifically trained for in order to be guard dogs is a nuisance to her Uh, what Somebody call Cesar Milan, quick Then, I was treated to a lovely scene of the Doberman dogs attempting to kill another dog and the heroine too, so that the hero has to shoot them both dead.Thank you, next.
